God’s Red Light, Green Light Guidance

Isn’t it just like us as a supposed Christian culture in the US to move forward without wisdom, without seeking the guidance of the Lord in our daily lives, but then when consequences come, to go crying to Him, or worse, to blame Him? {end soapbox}

We’re like a bunch of kids playing ‘Red Light, Green Light’ with the Lord at the helm (He’s always at the helm), except that everybody’s cheating. When God says ‘red light’ we just keep on going. The analogy ends right there because things get real when we disobey God’s rules…

The Old Testament is such a valuable historical written work. The people whose stories were preserved all these years, are directly reflected in the people who live in 2013.

In Deut. 1 God didn’t let them wander into trouble blindly. He gave them specific warnings. He cared for them and said explicitly ‘the choice you’re about to make is to move without me.’ They ignored the gravity of the choice and went anyway.

God is always faithful and loving to send us warnings before we make stupid choices, the problem is that many people, even Christians aren’t listening.

Read the scriptures, Hang out with Jesus in prayer, Relax in the presence of the Most High God…Time spent with Him is more satisfying, refreshing, life-giving than any other experience that exists. Go THAT deep. You won’t regret it. He will go before You, shielding your way, making straight your path.

Deut. 1:42 – And the Lord said to me, ‘Say to them, Do not go up or fight, for I am not in your midst, lest you be defeated by your enemies.’

Deut. 1:30 – The Lord your God who goes before you will himself fight for you, just as He did for you in Egypt before your eyes.

Before your very eyes…
